Today was a very peaceful morning. I woke up to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I read for a little while until Dad saw that I was awake. We got up to eat a breakfast of Honey Bunches of Oats con Almendras y leche and we also ate a plum. We decided to go check out the cafe to see if they had hot chocolate. Luckily they did and it was quite tasty! The forecast was looking good for wind so we went back up to the room to prepare for the day.

Dad was headed out to kiteboard while I was having a lesson. My instructor, Ben, has been kiting for about 8 years and he enjoys teaching as much as kiting. Since I have been kiting before, we reviewed the basics and then worked on things that had troubled me in the past. We set up the kite, went down the beach a ways, and practiced flying it. Then I practiced body dragging in the water. The students are given a helmet with a walkie talkie attached to it so that we can hear what our instructor is saying, but they can't hear what the student is saying… Which is good and bad. Good so your instructor doesn't hear the weird sounds you make and strange things you say. Bad because you can't communicate back to him. The wind began to die so we paused our lesson and I went to go find the key to the casita. Earlier the key was not in our pile of stuff so I did a quick check and did not find it so I went to find Dad. He was wayyyyy down the beach.

When I finally reached him, he was trying to go out but there wasn't enough wind to keep the kite in the air. The key was in the pile of stuff this time! We packed up his stuff and headed back. We ate lunch at the cafe and Dad order fish tacos, which he said were amazing and I ordered a chicken pesto burger which was yummy. After lunch, we decided to rest and digest in the casita and then maybe go back out to kite some more. I was really tired and ended up not going back out and Dad stayed in as well. Since we ate lunch kind of late, we ended up eating dinner kind of late as well. We FaceTimed with Mom before dinner. Afterwards, we went to the bank, then the supermercado to get more fruit, and then to Herman's for dinner. Dad got the Fish Special and I ordered the Shrimp Special. Both of us enjoyed our meals and then went back to the casita to watch Suburgatory and go to bed. Rest was necessary from a hard day of play!
